Functional Medicine at Goodlife

Are you tired of feeling dismissed or overlooked by traditional healthcare providers? Do you want to feel better—not just suppress symptoms? At GoodLife Medical Center in Memphis, we take a different approach: functional medicine. Led by Dr. Lola, our clinic helps patients address chronic conditions, fatigue, hormone imbalances, and more—by uncovering the why behind their symptoms.

What Is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a patient-centered, science-based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of disease.

Rather than only treating the symptoms of your condition with medications, functional medicine asks deeper questions like:

  • What are the environmental, lifestyle, and genetic factors driving this condition?

  • Are there underlying gut, hormone, or immune system imbalances?

  • How can we build a plan to restore your body’s natural balance?

At GoodLife, we use advanced lab testing, nutritional interventions, and personalized care plans to treat the whole person—not just the diagnosis.

What Can Functional Medicine Help With?

We specialize in helping patients who struggle with unresolved or chronic health conditions such as:

  • Chronic fatigue or burnout

  • Digestive issues (IBS, bloating, food intolerances)

  • Hormonal imbalances (PCOS, thyroid, menopause)

  • Anxiety and brain fog

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Weight gain and metabolic syndrome

  • Skin issues, migraines, and sleep disorders

Many of our patients have already seen multiple specialists without answers. Functional medicine offers a fresh perspective and lasting solutions.

What to Expect at GoodLife Medical Center

Your journey begins with a 60-minute new patient visit. This is where we:

  • Review your complete health history

  • Discuss lifestyle, stress, sleep, and nutrition

  • Order labs that go beyond standard checkups (e.g., gut microbiome testing, inflammation markers, food sensitivities)

From there, you’ll receive a tailored roadmap to recovery. This may include:

  • Specific dietary changes

  • Natural supplements (available via our PURE line)

  • Sleep hygiene and stress-reduction strategies

  • Detox support protocols

Why Functional Medicine Works

Unlike traditional care models, functional medicine:

  • Encourages long appointments and deep conversation

  • Looks at how all systems in the body are connected

  • Empowers you to be a co-creator in your healing journey

It’s a proactive, not reactive approach that helps prevent future health issues before they escalate.

Real-Life Results

Many of our patients report:

  • Renewed energy and focus

  • Fewer flare-ups or medication reliance

  • Sustainable weight loss

  • Resolved digestive discomfort

  • Clearer skin and improved mood

FAQs

Q: Is functional medicine covered by insurance?

A: Functional visits are self-pay. Initial visits are $250 and follow-ups $50, offering tremendous value compared to ongoing specialist visits.

Q: Can I do labs without becoming a full patient?

A: Lab work is part of a comprehensive treatment plan. We recommend booking a full visit to ensure labs are interpreted correctly.
